What is Yoga?


Yoga originated in ancient India more than 5000 years ago. Yoga literally means "union" or "connection".  This union or connection can relate to many aspects such as physical, mental, or spiritual. There are many yogic paths that allow a connection to the highest truth and helps to awaken our conscience.  Perhaps the most commonly known version is Hatha Yoga which includes postures or asana, breathing techniques or pranayama, purification and energy techniques.  Other popular paths include tantra, mantra, laya, jnana,and karma yoga to name a few.




Is Yoga for me?

Yoga is just for skinny bendy people right?  Wrong. Yoga is for everyone! The young and old can benefit from Yoga. Tall or short thick or thin Yoga is right for you.  Yoga gives you inner peace allowing you to accept and love yourself for who you are.

There are many books you can find full of great information. You can search your local area for Yoga Classes. You can even find free videos from numerous sources. How you Start isnt nearly important as the Fact you are Starting.
